Fujiko was a mess. Fujiko had problems. Fujiko had doubts.
But then came the day Fujiko made her final mistake. She told the barista that she had recently moved to Shinjuku and that she didn’t know anyone in the city.
When she went to the bathroom, the wall revolved and the machines took her.
The machines shaved her head. The machines drilled their way into her skull. The machines penetrated her brain. They took away Fujiko’s doubts. They took away her pain. They took away her fears. They took away Fujiko.
Now, Mari is a maid in the maid cafe and Mari spends her days making customers happy and that makes Mari’s boss happy and that makes Mari happy.
